Privacy Policy

Buyers (site visitors)

NewBuilt does not require accounts, registration, or login for buyers. We collect:

• Cookies: A session cookie to maintain a consistent browsing experience (which agent sponsor you see during your visit); if you arrive via an agent's share link or QR code, an attribution cookie that lasts 90 days; and a visitor cookie that holds a random ID, so we can count visits without knowing who you are. These cookies do not contain personal information.
• Anonymized analytics: To count unique visitors and the models they view, we store a one-way hash of the random ID in the visitor cookie. If that cookie isn't available, we use a one-way hash of your IP address and browser type instead. Neither hash can be reversed to identify you. We do not run third-party ad networks on the site; we use Meta and Google measurement cookies only to measure our own advertising (see Cookies below).
• Share link clicks: When you open an agent's share link or scan their QR code, we log a one-way hash of your IP address (not your actual IP), your browser type, the referring URL, and the same one-way hash of your visitor ID. This data is used solely for reporting to that agent.

We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any personally identifiable information from buyers unless you voluntarily submit it via our contact form.

Agent Sponsors

We collect the information you provide at sign-up:

• Name, email, phone number
• Broker name and real estate license number
• Headshot photo
• Payment information (processed by Stripe — we do not store card numbers)
• Before an agent's name goes on NewBuilt, we use Stripe to verify the agent's identity. Stripe collects a photo of a government-issued ID and a selfie, and the biometric information drawn from them, along with the name and ID number on the document and information about the device used. Stripe shares the result with us and also uses this information to run and improve its own services, including fraud detection, under its privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy. We keep only the result (passed or not, whether the name matches the license, and the date), never the ID or the selfie, and we delete the verification from our Stripe account once a check passes. Stripe may keep its own copy: to have Stripe delete it, or to withdraw consent to Stripe's use of your biometric information, contact privacy@stripe.com. To have us delete your result, or to be checked another way without the selfie, email erik@newbuilt.com.

• Session cookies: To show you the same agent sponsor during a single browsing session, ensuring a consistent experience.
• Attribution cookies: To honor agent share links — when an agent sends you a link, their card appears exclusively for 90 days.
• Visitor and impression hashes: To show each agent how many people they reached, how many models those people looked at, and how often their card showed up. We count visits; we never learn who you are.
• Agent sponsor data: To display your agent card, process payments, and generate your monthly impression reports.

• We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties.
• We do not run third-party ad networks on the site or build behavioral profiles. The only third-party cookies are Meta and Google measurement cookies that tell us whether our own ads work (see Cookies below).
• We do not build buyer profiles or track you across other websites.
• We do not require buyer accounts or login.
• We do not share buyer contact information with agents. If a buyer wants to contact an agent, they initiate that contact themselves — by calling the number on the agent card, or by choosing to add a phone or email for the one agent they connected with (see Cookies & Accounts below).

All three cookies contain only a random identifier — no personal data. You can clear them at any time through your browser settings, or use the button below.

We also use standard measurement cookies from Meta and Google to understand whether our own advertising works — for example, whether someone who saw a NewBuilt ad later signed up. These measure our ads; they are not used to sell or share your browsing with anyone, and you can block them with your browser’s settings or any ad blocker without affecting the site.

If you create a free buyer account, you can choose to connect with the agent who shared a link with you and, separately, choose to share your saved-homes list with them. Both are optional and reversible anytime from your Saved Homes page. By default the only thing an agent ever sees is the first name you type in — never your email or phone number. If you want your agent to be able to reach out, you can add a phone or email for them: that too is optional, it is shared only with the one agent you connected with, it is removed automatically when you disconnect, and you can delete it yourself at any time.

Data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL) with row-level security enabled. Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers or bank account details on our servers.

Visitor impression data uses one-way cryptographic hashes (SHA-256). These hashes cannot be reversed to identify individual visitors.

• Impression data: Retained for reporting purposes. Anonymized hashes only — no PII.
• Share link click logs: Retained for agent reporting. Contains only hashed IPs, browser type, and referrer.
• Agent data: Retained while your account is open. If you cancel a paid plan, your account reverts to a free Scout account — your profile stays with you, only the paid placement ends. If we remove an agent, or you ask us to delete your account, the profile is removed from the site and retained only as needed for accounting and reporting. You may request deletion at any time by contacting us.

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us. For agent sponsors, this includes your profile information, impression reports, and payment history (Stripe-managed).

California residents: Under the CCPA, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and to request its deletion. We do not sell personal information.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Active agent sponsors will be notified via email of material changes.
